Accessible only at low tide by a submersible causeway, it will offer you, for an hour or two, a breath of fresh air from the sea, with a view of the Charente coast. Please pay attention to the tide times. Laurent will show you the best times to access it.

BROUAGE CITADEL
This 16th century city, nestled in the heart of the marshes and not far from the ocean, is surrounded by fortifications erected by Pierre d’Argencourt and remodeled by the famous Vauban. Stroll along its ramparts, visit the underground port, and stroll through the artists’ shops, while admiring the flight of storks, many of which have settled all around the “star of the marshes”.

After Brouage, you will find that Vauban left us a lot of heritage.
